In this role you will be responsible for the deployment of our client’s products and services, guaranteeing ongoing availability, security, and documentation. You will be working closely with the Infrastructure team and Development team, you’ll be heavily involved in the deployment, maintenance, tooling, and orchestration all the way across the client’s industry leading on prem and cloud-based services.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing and maintaining scripts and tooling, management of the lifecycle of the clients on prem and cloud-based architecture.
  • You will be – managing deployments, ensure logging and monitoring are in place, security best practices are being followed, patching, and updating cycles as and when needed.
  • Heavily working with the Infrastructure team, this will be to deliver the tooling for shared systems (databases, build and deployment platforms, virtualisation/container management, etc.).
  • Sometimes working with the development team to ensure the developers can add to the pipeline tooling.
  • Working with Architecture team where you will be advising on best practices and the pros and cons of components in proposed systems.
  • You will be really focusing on making sure everyone is complying with the policies and procedures that the company has put in place. Everyone need to be working on best practices.

Experience needed:

  • Scripting/Dev experience in Python, Golang, Ruby, Bash.
  • Automation and Config experience with chef/puppet, rundeck/ansible, Terraform.
  • CI/CD experience for both on-prem and cloud-based architecture
  • Sys Admin experience (Linux, FreeBSD)
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, TCP/IP, subnetting/VLANs, Firewalls, basic routing, RabbitMQ, Kafka.
  • You need to have good communication skills; you will need to be building relationships internally and externally with stakeholders so interpersonal skills are important.
  • BA in Computer Science or Engineering (or similar).

Based in London (mostly remote but will need to be within commutable distance as will need to come into the office twice a month)
